Shattered Car Window

Having a shattered car side window is frustrating and makes a huge mess inside the vehicle.
Usually this is due to break-ins, although we’ve seen it occur from lawnmowers, cyclists, extreme weather and many more.
Almost all car side windows are made from toughened glass (a specially heat treated glass to make it stronger).
The drawback of toughened glass is that it shatters, and goes literally everywhere.
Smashed Windscreen Replacement

Some windscreens are simply beyond repair! One of our on-road glaziers snapped this pic before replacing the windscreen.
Up close it looks like a regular stone chip but this smash actually spans around 200mm or 20 cm!
Look closely and you’ll see the drivers rear-vision mirror in behind the break and it will give you an idea of the size of the impact.
